Day by Day

Aren't you glad that
God takes care of us
"Day By Day"?

Day by day and with each passing moment,
Strength I find to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father's wise bestowment,
I've no cause for worry or for fear.
He whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Ev'ry day the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He whose name is Counsellor and Pow'r.
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
"As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then in ev'ry tribulation,
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith's sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father's hand,
One by one, they days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the Promised Land.

The Simple Woman's Daybook #24

FOR TODAY ~ March 16, 2010

Outside my window...It looks like winter and it's still cool...we are use to warmer temperatures by this time of year.
I am thinking... about all that I need to do today.

I am thankful for... a Heavenly Father that cares for me!

I am praying for... a friend that God allowed me to run into last night at Jake's baseball practise.
From the kitchen... salad for lunch, steak & veggies for supper!

I am going... to IndyCar races in April with all of my guys! Can't wait!!
I am reading....Ezra & Psalms in my Bible and a fictional book, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.

I am hoping... for warmer weather.

I am hearing... a whole lot of quiet at the moment...
Around the house...we just finished setting up our workout room!

One of my favorite things...vacation...looking forward to a short one soon!

A few plans for the rest of the week...grocery shopping, library, baseball practice and maybe a date with Tony!
